SMALLER FOOTPRINT - SAME BIG FESTIVAL

The 15th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival kicks off September 24th with an emphasis on safety, films and fun. Home base for the in-person event is AMC Sundial 12 where safety measures such as reduced auditorium capacity and touch points, enhanced filtration systems, and new cleaning protocols have been implemented.

The four-day film fest features 50+ screenings, 12 workshops, Q&A's, awards, plus plenty of physically-distanced networking and photo opps. Guest appearances include producer, writer/director and actress Liz Cardenas, digital technology/media expert Ash Greyson, Milan Chakraborty, Avril Speaks and other industry leaders.

Here's your chance to get off the small screen and back on the festival circuit.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO...

We're proud to announce that former Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) Executive Director and CEO, David Yates, is the 2020 Film Florida Legends Tourism Ambassador. David's achievements are many, but in the film world, he is credited for helping bring the stories of injured and rehabilitated dolphins Winter and Hope to the big screen. The dolphin stars of Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2 have made a huge splash on our local economy. These films, both of which received state incentives, provided work to hundreds of filmmakers, and helped boost CMA attendance and film-induced tourism to Clearwater as well as the entire Pinellas County region. The positive economic impacts to Pinellas County are expected to continue into the next decade. Thanks David, for all you've done!
