INDUSTRY NEWS

A Letter From Our President/CEO, Brian Lowack

As I travel around Pinellas County, it is incredible to see how busy and lively our destination remains week in and week out. Thank you to all our partners for your dedication to create an incredible experience for the millions of visitors to our destination each year. Your efforts to make our visitors feel welcomed, feel special and want to come back again are appreciated by your partners at Visit St. Pete/Clearwater.

As our destination grows, the travel and tourism industry continues to take notice. The recent announcement of a new nonstop flight with year-round daily service to and from Mexico City is a great example of this. Mexico City is a hub for Latin American markets, and this will open a new connection to 45 additional markets. This is how Tampa Bay wins as a team. As a priority for VSPC, we will continue to work closely with our partners at Tampa International Airport, Visit Tampa Bay, and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, to aggressively pursue new nonstop routes from our international target markets in an effort to open our destination to new travelers looking to experience all our destination has to offer.

This makes our marketing efforts even more important both domestically and internationally. And, we are thrilled to welcome Steve Grimes to VSPC as the organization’s first-ever Chief Marketing Officer. Steve is already hitting the ground running and working across the organization to help set us up for success in 2024 and beyond. His creativity and passion will help continue to elevate the Visit St. Pete/Clearwater brand across the globe.

And finally, as we enter March – Women’s History Month – we take a moment to recognize all the women in Pinellas County who are invested in tourism and dedicate their lives and resources to create a special destination for our residents and visitors. We are fortunate to have such strong leaders throughout the whole county who make our destination stand out above the rest. We salute you all and thank you for your efforts this month and every month throughout the year.

We are looking forward to seeing our destination continue to shine!
