Hello St. Pete-Clearwater Partners –
We know many of you are feeling exhausted and overwhelmed following Hurricane Helene as we currently keep an eye on Hurricane Milton in the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you, once again, for all you have done to assist displaced residents and recovery teams over the past week.
As of now, Milton is expected to develop into a major hurricane before making landfall. Expected conditions throughout Pinellas County include strong hurricane-force winds, heavy rain, life-threatening storm surge and flooding.
Pinellas County has not yet issued mandatory evacuations for residents, yet these are expected to be announced in the near future as more updates become available with Hurricane force winds anticipated to arrive early Wednesday. As of now, Pinellas County is encouraging voluntary evacuations for residents in Zone A, B and C.
You are encouraged to continue monitoring Hurricane Milton through Alert Pinellas and local news sources. The County Information Center (CIC) will be open 24 hours for preparedness questions, and can be reached at (727) 464-4333.
