WE'VE KNOWN ALL ALONG - NOW IT'S OFFICIAL

Today MovieMaker announced that St. Pete/Clearwater made its list of 2021 Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker. St. Pete/Clearwater is the first Florida destination, other than Miami, to ever make the list and did so despite lacking a state film incentive, which many of the other major film hubs on the list enjoy. This is a major feather in the cap for our area and the film community, and will further shine a spotlight on St. Pete/Clearwater as a place to come and make movies! @moviemakermag

Production Heats Up in St. Pete/Clearwater 

FREE PERMITS AND BEAUTIFUL BACKDROPS

Production is on the rise in St. Pete/Clearwater. In the past few months big brands including T-Mobile^®, Dick’s Sporting Goods^®, AARP^®, Schlage^®, Spectrum^® and Pinch-A-Penney^® have chosen locations in St. Pete/Clearwater for national print campaigns and commercials. Major networks CBS and ESPN have been capturing scenic b-roll and beauty shots to air during Super Bowl. And our white sand beaches and picturesque parks continue to offer countless backdrops for photo shoots, music videos, web series and more. Free and easy-to-get film permits, a responsive film commission and a cash rebate program are some of reasons local production is on the rise.

The Dunedin International Film Festival recently presented Film Commissioner Tony Armer with their #FloridaFilmAward for his outstanding contributions to supporting and growing the film industry in Florida and the St. Pete/Clearwater area. Staying relevant in the film industry and bringing meaningful jobs to the area are two of Tony's highest priorities.

Indie Action Movie Night

Three award-winning, locally filmed indie action/fantasy shorts will screen February 20th beginning at 5 PM at Studio Movie Grille Seminole. Come out and support local film and local theaters, and enjoy tasty treats while you watch.
