Between the bluest of skies and whitest of sands, Pinellas County Commissioners, City Officials and Chambers of Commerce stepped on Treasure Island Beach earlier this month to officially mark the completion of the Pinellas County Beach Nourishment project.

Nearly 2 million cubic yards of newly placed sand are now part of America's Favorite Beaches, an investment of $125.7 million – funded by visitors through the Tourist Development Tax – that stretched from Sand Key down to Upham Beach on St. Pete Beach.

The PGA TOUR’s official event on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Valspar Championship, takes place March 16-22 at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor. Featuring 132 of the world’s finest golfers, including defending champion Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, Tom Kim and many others, the most colorful PGA tournament offers a tremendous competition as well as: 

On Saturday night, country stars Lee Brice and Tyler Hubbard will perform live for all those in attendance. 

Owned and operated by Copperhead Charities, the tournament annually donates $1 million+ into the Tampa Bay community and generates over $75 million in economic impact including 22,000+ room nights.  Broadcast in 175 countries via NBC Sports and Golf Channel, the tournament attracts over 3.7 million viewers daily average. Kids 15 and under free with ticketed adult.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is expanding its reach this spring as Allegiant Air celebrates two decades of service at the airport by launching non-stop flights to/from three new destinations. The expansion kicks off with service to Atlantic City, NJ (Feb. 13), followed by Trenton, NJ (Feb. 20), and Huntsville, AL (March 5), bringing the airport's total non-stop network to a record 63 cities. 

In 2025, St. Pete-Clearwater's International Airport welcomed 2,794,067 passengers, and increase of 14% from 2024. 

The results are in and several local experiences in Pinellas County joined two of America's Favorite Beaches in the 2026 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice "Best of the Best" Awards.

Clearwater Beach took the #2 spot for the Best Beach in the U.S., leading the charge in Florida and also landing among the Best Beaches in the World - the only Florida beach to receive the recognition and one of only three in the U.S. Honeymoon Island also received recognition among the Top 10 Best Beaches in the U.S.

Get Up and Go Kayaking at Shell Key was named the #1 Nature and Outdoors Activity in the U.S. (and #2 globally!!!), Little Toot Dolphin Adventure has been listed among the top 5 Best Sailing and Day Cruises in the U.S., and OCC Roadhouse ranked #3 for Pet-Friendly Restaurants in the U.S.

Caretta on the Gulf stood out as the only Florida establishment in the Top 15 for Best Fine Dining Restaurants in the U.S.

Joining the long list of recent accolades is the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach, which aside for conquering the MICHELIN Guide recommended distinction, and being recognized as a top Florida Resort in the 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers Survey, recently earned a spot in the 2026 Forbes Travel Guide.
